SPL side Kilmarnock made sure that there was to be no cup shock at Rugby Park last night as they totally outplayed Queens in a very one-sided 3rd round Scottish Communities Cup clash.

As impressive as Queens were in Saturday’s victory over Morton, the gulf in class between the two teams last night was never in doubt as the home side were in control straight away. A goal after just 2 minutes, was just the start that Queens had feared, and it went from bad to worse once Kevin Smith was Red-carded, and Killie added a 2nd goal before the break.

The 2nd half was all one-way traffic as Kilmarnock showed Queens no mercy by scoring a further 3 goals, and the margin of defeat was only kept as low thanks to Lee Robinson performing at the top of his game in the Queens goal. Queens were never in the game and only had one effort on goal all night, a poor performance from all concerned, best forgotten as soon as possible. Best on the night, Robinson, and the 505 faithful supporters who should have seen a better display from their team.
