The dust has now settled on another disappointing result for Queens, and after defeat at Dundee it now means that they have already lost 6 league games away from Palmerston, which is only one fewer than they lost on their travels during the whole of last season.

Although Queens were very much second best for the majority of the game, they almost snatched an unlikely equaliser right at the death, when only an excellent save from Dundee ‘keeper Rab Douglas prevented Kevin Smith from earning Queens a point. Queens also had to contend with the sending off of youngster Kevin Holt, and at 2-0 down and a man down after just 25 minutes, they were perhaps a bit fortunate to still be in the game at the break.

A Chris Higgins goal, his first for the club, gave Queens a way back into the game, and added to that the home side were also reduced to 10 men when Riley received a yellow card for an apparent dive. However, the home side were always in control and should have sealed the game as chances came and went, and Queens , with the Smith effort might have made them pay, but it wasn’t to be as Queens made yet another journey home without a point.

Next up for Queens is a home clash with Falkirk this coming Saturday, and although they will go into the game as clear underdogs, they really must be looking to collect all 3 points from this one.
