Queens maintained their unbeaten start to the season, but they made hard work of beating  bottom side Albion Rovers at Palmerston even though the visitors were reduced to 10 men just before the break. Derek Lyle’s 20th minute strike turned out to be the winner, and Queens also had to thank ‘keeper Lee Robinson after he pulled off a splendid penalty stop to prevent Albion from taking what would have been a shock point from the game.

This was just one of those games in which Queens created a good few chances to kill the game off, but unfortunately they just could not find the 2nd goal that would have made the game a little less tense. However, it’s another win, another clean sheet and the unbeaten start has now stretched to 6 games, although that statistic will be severely challenged in the next 2 games as Queens entertain Hibs in the communities league cup, and then joint top Arbroath 4 days later.

Sponsors choice of man-of-the-match for Queens quite correctly was given to Kevin Holt, the youngster has enjoyed a fine start to the season, and gave a solid performance in this one.
