Queens made it 9 games unbeaten after coming from behind on 2 occasions to eventually gain a well deserved win at bottom side Ayr. After going behind in the 9th minute to the first league goal scored against them, Queens got back on level terms 7 minutes later when leading scorer Nicky Clark scored for the 7th time this season. The hosts, who were probably the better team in the first half, regained the lead after Queens failed to deal with a dangerous cross, but once again Queens were level minutes later as the returning Paul Burns headed home a corner from Chris Mitchell.

After the interval Queens were much better and the pace of the attacking players slowly but surely began to turn the game in their favour. Gavin Reilly put Queens ahead for the first time in the game just after the hour mark, and the teenage striker scored his 6th goal in three games seven minutes later to put Queens in control. The final period of the game saw Queens content to do just the necessary in terms of attacking no doubt saving some of their energy for Tuesday’s much anticipated game at Ibrox.
