After last week’s goaless draw against Alloa, Queens returned to winning ways as they gained a hard fought victory over Stenhousemuir. Two goals in the first half from Derek Young, and then a stunning free-kick from Chris Mitchell seemed to have Queens in full control of the game, but in the 2nd period, the visitors were given a way back into the game following a dreadful error by Chris Higgins, but fortunately for Queens they managed to hold on to record their 19th league victory of the season.

Queens are now statistically the best team across all four Scottish leagues. The first team to reach 60 points,19 league wins, and the 2nd division title race is all but over.
