Queens head to Stair Park tomorrow to take on a Stranraer team who are ‘fighting for their lives’ as they bid to hold on to their 2nd division status. This will be the third clash between the teams so far this season, with Queens coming out on top on both previous meetings, winning 2-0 at Stranraer, and 4-1 at Palmerston on Boxing Day of last year. Queens 6 goals against the ‘Cleyholers’ this campaign have been scored by Nicky Clark,(4), Gavin Reilly, and Kevin Smith who both have scored once.

Queens, who go into the game a massive 18 points clear at the top of the table, are currently on a 9 game unbeaten run, winning 8 and drawing just once since losing for the only time in the league this season against Alloa back in December. The hosts on the other hand have recorded just 2 wins from their last 7 games, and will  certainly be underdogs to claim a win against their high flying South West rivals.

Queens skipper, Chris Higgins will miss the game owing to suspension, and leading scorer, Nicky Clark, will be aiming to end his ‘mini scoring drought’ (he has not scored for 2 games!!!) as the top team chase three more points to push them ever nearer to the league title.

Stranraer’s recent signing Darren Gribben scored 2 goals in the win over East Fife a fortnight ago, and along with leading scorer, Craig Malcolm, will pose Queens more than a few problems as they aim to move their side up the league table.
